Paolo Petrocelli, PhD, is a cultural entrepreneur driven by the belief that the arts and arts education are a major force for growth, development and change globally.
Petrocelli is the Co-Founder and President of the Italian Youth Association for UNESCO and serves as Cultural and Music Diplomacy Officer for the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates.
As a music diplomacy ambassador, he serves in institutional roles to forge bonds through music in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the US. Petrocelli is the Founder and President of EMMA for Peace (Euro-Mediterranean Music Academy for Peace).
In 2014, he has been appointed as one of the youngest members ever elected to the Board of Directors of Fondazione Teatro dell’Opera di Roma (Rome Opera House). In 2015, he has been appointed as Member of the Board of Directors of Fondazione Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena.
Today, he serves on numerous Board of Directors, including Opera Lebanon (Beirut, Lebanon), Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello di Venezia (Venice, Italy), Oregon Music Festival (Portland, USA), Accademia Musicale Jacopo Napoli (Cava de’ Tirreni, Italy).
To help shape the next generation, Petrocelli lectures at leading universities (including Yale University, MIT, New York University, Université Paris-Sorbonne, Accademia Teatro Alla Scala) about management and international cultural relations.
